  1. Surya Namaskar:

This is one of the oldest yoga pose that has been practiced since centuries. All together surya namaskar consists of 12 powerful postures or asanas that are performed in a single set. This yoga exercise has been practiced for the number of reasons like keeps the mind fresh and maintains the body shape.

How it is performed:

  • Stand with your hands straight and keep your feet together. Now join the palms with the chest.
  • Inhale your breath and stretch the arms over your head keeping your palms joined.
  • Now exhale the breath, lean the body forward with your spine straight.
  • Slightly bend the knees and try to touch the ground with your finger tips.
  • Again inhale and spin the left leg backward and carefully drop the knee on the ground.
  • The right leg knee must be folded and should be in between your hands.
  • Exhale and take the right leg backward, place it near to the left leg. Lower the head, raise the buttocks and keep the heels flat.
  • Drop the knees to the ground. Bring the chin and chest on the ground as well.
  • This is actual sun salutation position.
  • Bhujangasana:

How it is performed:

  • Lie down on the ground with your hands beneath the shoulder and try to stretch the body forward from the feet.
  • Maintain this position and keep the lower body pressed on the floor.
  • Inhale and keep the arms straight and lift the chest up.
  • Ensure that the pubis touches the floor.
  • Keep the naval tucked in and move the neck backward to work around neck muscles.
  • Retain the position for 30 seconds in the beginning.
  • Exhale the breath and retain the original position.
  • Trikonasana:

Triangle pose also known as Trikonasana is an easy and best yoga posture for maintain the health and increase the height. For this type of asana all you need is a perfect body balance. Just remember to be straight with your eyes open while performing this asana.

 How it is performed:

  • Stand straight with two or three feet distance between the legs and the feet must be parallel to each other.
  • Raise both the hands straight up aligned with the shoulders.
  • Bend towards the right side and try to touch the toe of the right foot.
  • Raise the left hand straight up and look toward it.
  • Try to retain this position for at least 30 seconds to a minute.

Repeat the same with left side.
